Sun Smart

3/02/2015

Summer means hours of outdoor fun and activities for our kids, and the need to provide sun protection is more important than ever. With Queensland having among the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, the Cancer Council Queensland has a number of resources to help parents encourage their children to adopt SunSmart behaviours.

The resources include brochures, posters, postcards, a downloadable version of the Slip! Slop! Slap! song and an activity book, Be SunSmart with Sid.

This summer, don’t sizzle like a sausage - take the five precautions to protect your child from sun damage:

  • slip on clothing
  • slop on sunscreen
  • slap on a hat
  • seek shade
  • slide on sunglasses
